Kayak launches & put-ins by state
Curated kayak launches across the U.S. We focus on launches that are beginner-friendly, have parking, and won't waste your morning.
Our launch directory is intentionally curated. We do not scrape Google Maps, Yelp, or commercial directories. Every launch is editorially verified or sourced from public parks data, then revisited annually. This is slower than scraping — but it's also what makes a directory worth trusting.

What we look for in a launch
- Sheltered water for the first 100 yards. Most paddlers want to be on the water before fighting wind, current, or boat wakes.
- Parking within a reasonable carry. A 200-foot carry with a 60-pound kayak is no fun.
- A gradual entry — sand, gravel, or a dock. Steep, slick concrete ramps are designed for trailers, not kayakers.
- Restroom and trash facilities if possible. Outdoor recreation works only when launches stay clean.
- Posted regulations. Permit requirements, motorboat traffic, no-wake zones, and species or season-specific rules.
